Bound by Secrets: Entering the Final Stretch
Hello, night wanderers.
It's me, your favorite procrastinator, checking in just days before my deadline.
The Current Situation
Here we are, deadline looming, and I haven't even gotten my proof copy yet because formatting took longer than expected.
But then, if you know me well, being on time is actually being late. I love a little wiggle room.
So here we are!
Formatting Victory (Finally)
Bound by Secrets is finally done with all its formatting issues and heading to print for a proof copy to ensure... well... that the formatting and cover actually made it through. We shall see!
I gotta say, after Bound by Fire (which, by the way, had a mini glow-up—we added the first chapter from Bound by Secrets in the back like a good little indie storyteller), I was going to finish this series with two books ONLY.
HA! I was hilariously living in delulu land for thinking that.
When Characters Hijack Your Plans
Can I just say, writing book two... no spoilers, but I fell in love with one of my characters? And not to mention, the NON-STOP ideas flooding into my head?
Allow me to share a non-spoiler example of what I mean by ideas.
We know the perspective of Condinia, right? But what about Ashland? We know they're a bad country in the eyes of Lahbell and Condinia. But what do the other countries look like to Ashland?
Yup! I'm already writing down ideas for my UNBOUND series. I don't have characters in mind yet, but I do have a story I want to tell for it, and I'm excited!
(So this is just probably a 2028 idea I just threw out here! But not a spoiler to the Bound series!)
What's Next?
Once I have my physical author copies of Bound by Secrets, I have a standalone I'd like to try. The outline is finished! And I already had help finding possible plot holes (there aren't any... yet), until I start writing!
Hoping to start this month, but I'm currently finishing up Bound By ______ (book three)'s outline while the story is still fresh in my head. I'll come back to it after my standalone is finished to fill it in.
It's very skeletal right now. Like very skeletal. I'm not sure if someone read it right now if it would make any sense! (Lol!)
But that's the beauty of outlines—they're allowed to be messy first.
A Quiet Thank You
To everyone waiting patiently (or impatiently—I see you, and I love you for it), thank you for sticking with me through the chaos.
We're almost there.
Proof copies incoming. February still on track. And apparently, a whole expanded universe brewing in the background that I didn't plan for.
This is fine. Everything is fine.
(It's actually fine. I promise.)
